Instead of writing a blog post today i thought i would post a poem i wrote which i feel summarises my experience.

NIGHT AND DAY

Close your eyes, darkness,

Wait there’s colour,

Lots all different,

Movement begins to form shapes,

“I dream” happiness takes over sadness,

Joy takes over gloom.

Blackness takes the night

We sleep unmoving

Death can be so close

We rest until morn “replenished”

Awaken remembering only colours

Eye’s wide, body and soul open to the world

We are alive once more

To do our daily deeds,

Pushing at life, “dream’s forgot”,

The world goes on turing relentlessly

Giving us the seasons, months and days,

A time to sleep, a time to live and a time to die.
