Thought you might be interested to know that Lee Valley Pensioners who form our Happy Days group have a motto:
Every Wednesday Afternoon
Endless Friendship
Very Special People
Always Smiling
Liverpool’s Finest
Living Life To The Full
Everyone’s A Winner
You Will Never Walk Alone.
We are trying to reflect this motto in the films and broadcast we are creating. Last session we filmed our members setting up for an interview independently of our film maker Nikki. Good workdone by all!
We have started a project called “Happy Days” which basically is a project from the time the prefabs were built in Belle Vale reminiscing from the post war time up until when they were demolished. We also are doing a 30 minute film interviewing various people about there experencies of life during this time and also of the building of the Belle Vale area after the 1939-1944 war. We are doing this project because we feel there is a rich history of the way the area was developed.

Welcome to In Focus @ Toxteth TV. This is the first post ever and it’s been set up with members of the ‘Happy Days’ group who are based at The Millenium Centre in Netherley. Members are now coming here to learn film making and new I.T skills on this project but they’re already part of a thriving group who come here every week to socialise, play Bingo and take part in events that they maybe wouldn’t do by themselves. The group’s run by Margi and a phenomonal band of volunteers who are supporting us with this project.
The ‘Happy Days’ group have been learning camera skills and interview technique and have been looking at creative types of shots. Already we’ve talked and filmed memories of the past, focussing on ‘things we thought we’d never do’.
Keep a look out for Tommy(writer/performer) and Richie’s (Director/cameraman) film about getting older.
