Beginning and Mid Projects Evaluations

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

This is what some of our local residents have to say about the In Focus Project:

” I joined this group in order to get some experience in film making and it has answered all my expectations. It’s good to meet people who share the same passion that you do. It’s definitely the best opportunity that I can get.”
Alex

” This is a great opportunity to get involved in something separate from the daily routine. I have only been here for two hours and already I feel part of the group.”
Ambrose

” From the sessions I’ve attended I have felt very much part of it. The film is going to be a product of what each group member can offer. I look forward to it.”
Patrick

“I’ve really enjoyed this experience – I get to make films! I’ve learnt a lot about what goes into making a documentary and am excited to carry on. Lovely group and nice place to learn and it’s free.”
Bridgette.

Still Waters

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

The local residents group have been working under the creative title STILL WATERS. They aim to create “a programme in which we will scratch the surface of the pool in Liverpool, to take a look at some of the more enterprising, creative, innovative and caring people in the city.”

Working on the premise that “still waters run deep and it is not until one scratch the surface that one finds out just how deep”, they filmed their first interview last week. Here is some of the working script that Peter created for his interview with Norman at Aleo Plating.

“This is Peter Ogunsiji reporting as a part of Toxteth TV’s STILL WATERS programme”

Background

In 2002 inspired by the legionary icon that is Bob Marley I produced an art piece entitled ONE WORLD ONE LOVE (see information below)

Then in 2005/06 I thought as the twenty-fifth anniversary of Bob Marley’s death was imminent, it would be most appropriate to have the ONE WORLD ONE LOVE piece chromium plated. (You know silver Anniversary)

I approached ALEO plating on the Vauxhall road / Ford Street Liverpool 3, one of, or possibly the only remaining electro plating company in Liverpool , to get a quote to have my art piece chromium plated.

It was there that I met John and Norman two very enterprising and creative men, (we got talking then Norman showed me a piece of his art work, a wonderful sculptured apple).

I never did get the ONE WORLD ONE LOVE piece chrome plated; I just did not know how to acquire the necessary funding.

Anyway join us as we travel across the city to scratch under the surface of ALEO Electro plating.
