After a very productive yesterday at Power House we can now confirm that the PowerHouse Cre8tivity Broadcast will take the following format:

Film 1: Dan and Adam’s intro: 2 young men with a fine sense of comic timing introduce the InFocus project… eventually…

My film is about…

Actually, my film is not just mine! In our group we have me, ( Zoé), Judith, Daniel, Adam, Sian, Lauren, Lana, Darren, Sammy, Mary, Marcus and another Daniel etc! We all live, or have previously lived at the powerhouse foyer. The powerhouse is a supported accomodation for 16-25 year olds and is based in toxteth in Liverpool. ‘Life is what you make of it here, you get all the support you need for the things you do or need to do and help to get onto college courses or move on in to independent living. Its whether or not you have the motivation. Myself at the time was not in the right frame of mind, i was careless about my actions. Now i am living independently and still engage in various courses through the powerhouse, one of which is toxteth t.v.’ (Judith).

We decided to make a documentary based on different views about peoples who either live or engage within our community. We have interviewed Herbie and Pansy from Steve Bico housing. Herbie is an MBE and Pansy helps out and cooks for the residents. I really enjoyed interviewing them and found it very interesting listening to the stories they had to tell.

We went to a youth club in Liverpool and interviewed Kof who is a singer/MC. He told us his take on what he thought was important in the community and what he thought made a community. We also filmed him as he taught a group of boys about rap and helped them put some lyrics together and they all made their own raps about black history month.

Beetween us we have learnt how to use the boom, how to control lighting and how it effects pictures and film. How to brainstorm and speed write and some of this writing we will use and keep writing for our film. How to identify types of shots with the camera, and framing shots. We have learnt how to edit footage and start makin our own films.

Animation Work

I’ve learnt how to use a camera. Edit, and the first part of

animating an image using photoshop. I have also started to

learn how to put my first animation ideas into practice. I am

part of the powerhouse group, and think we work well as a team

because everybody has got their own, and works best at their

own preferred role.
